On the afternoon of October 10, Municipal Standing Committee Member and Deputy Mayor Li Xiheng led a research delegation to Xihe Town in Dabu County to conduct a special inspection of key forestry initiatives, including pine wilt disease prevention and control, forest fire prevention, and pine forest conversion and cultivation.

The delegation visited Heping Village, the town forestry team, and Beitang Village in Xihe Town, where they inspected on-site the implementation of disease-affected tree removal and treatment, pine forest conversion and cultivation, operation and maintenance of fire prevention facilities, and routine duty and watchkeeping arrangements.

They received detailed reports on the county's pine wilt disease prevention and control efforts, autumn and winter forest fire prevention measures, and pine forest quality improvement and optimization work, and gained a thorough understanding of the difficulties encountered in advancing these efforts as well as the next steps in the work plan.

Li Xiheng affirmed the achievements Dabu County has made in pine wilt disease prevention and control and in building a grassroots forest fire prevention system.

He emphasized that forestry resources are a vital cornerstone of ecological security, and that Dabu must keep the issue of forest fire prevention firmly in mind, consolidate and reinforce fire prevention responsibilities at the county, town, and village levels, and carry out regular hazard inspections and public awareness campaigns in forest areas to build a solid defense line for forest safety.

He also called for precise monitoring, early warning, and treatment of pine wilt disease, full efforts in clearing and logging disease-affected trees, scientific advancement of pine forest conversion and cultivation, proactive engagement with forestry operators, and simultaneous planning for the development of under-forest economies, so as to continuously optimize forest stand structure, improve forest quality, protect the green mountains and clear waters, and steadily consolidate ecological development achievements.

County Deputy Party Secretary and County Mayor Ling Xiaowen and county leader Ge Zhifa accompanied the inspection.
