HD Hyundai (KRX:267250) and Siemens Digital Industries Software launched a joint facility in Busan on Tuesday to speed up digital transformation in shipbuilding, The Korea Times reported on Tuesday, citing the companies.

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering held an opening ceremony for the Global Marine Center, with CEO Kim Hyung-kwan and Siemens' Chief Revenue Officer Robert Jones among the attendees, the news daily said.

The center will host roughly 50 specialists from both firms and serve as a hub that merges HD Hyundai's shipbuilding know-how with Siemens' digital engineering capabilities, the publication said.

HD Hyundai and Siemens Digital Industries did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
